Founded in 1859, the Evangelische Diakonissenanstalt Speyer is an institution for social welfare work. We carry on the work that deaconesses have started all over the Palatinate. We have facilities in the Palatinate (Pfalz) and in Homburg/Saarland.

In the various specialized departments at the Evangelische Diakonissenanstalt, individuals in need experience “People Helping People.”

We have established and still establish hospitals, apartments and workshops for the mentally and physically handicapped, residential homes for elderly impaired individuals, a hospice and homes and support for children and teenagers in need.

In our facilities in Speyer and Landau we offer on-the-job training in nursing, pedagogical and healing professions.

Currently, about 2,200 professional employees work in our facilities.
